Beyond Fashion's Designer of the Season

Designer of the season a new feature to Beyond Fashion, Every new season so basically 4 times a year (i say that but Ive only been on this for 2 seasons so far) we (i debate with my friends) decide on a designer of the season. kicking it off with summer This season there has seen so many great collections from high end atelier designers to the quirk balls and odd nuts of the bunch. But its been agreed that designer of the season is going to The British quirk ball that is Giles Deacon, for his sheer brilliance and versatility. Why have we chosen Giles well here's some of the reasons why;

• Recently featuring as a judge on channel 4's : T4 NewLook style the nation, he proved he not only design great outfits but he can style great outfits upon himself and look tre geek chic.
• His shock to fashion world, when he took the opportunity and designed a stunning wedding dress for the gorgeous Abby Clancy.
• His spring/summer 2011 collection made me drool!
• Hes again a British designer like Aunty Viv and the late great Alexander McQueen, who is beginning to push boundaries and going beyond the lengths of fashion by being tasteful at the very same time.

among those reason's there are many more but if i went on id probably bore you all so to save my breath and to let you look at something pretty other than black and white, here's some great inspiration, The work of Giles Deacon.

Cher Lloyd: Swagger Jagger Go get some

I know Cher llyod is a very controversial artist that has come out of the UK Xfactor, but i love her 'Swagger' in this video and surpriseingly the video and song its self. Her play with huge, bold and loud accersories with classic fashion garments give her a quirky edge and yes again lots of 'Swagger Jagger'. I also love how She swaps her style to a classic mysterious and dark look. I never thought Id say this but Im so pleased Cher llyod is Back on the music scene and i cant wait to see what she comes up with Next.

Leavers ball: Class of 2011

On the 1st July, Goff's Schools year 13 held their annual Leavers Ball or as its commonly known Prom. A much more sophisticated and elegant event to the usual prom that takes place at the end of year 11, it was full of surprises and great food. It was also the last time everyone would be together that attended sixth form which made it a little emotional but i think the fun and great friendships we had made over the 7 years we had been at Goff's over took that emotion.

So what they wore and my very own best dressed awards ! And of course photo's of the Event which took place the stunning Kings oak hotel.

This lady was amazing last night that as i sat watching her i found myself singing along with my best friend down the phone, along with her. There is no way that words could describe how phenominal she was so to explain in her stunning gold sequined top, heres beyonce to show you all how much of an Independant woman she is and to tell us who runs the world (girls).

Exams can rule your life

Lately Ive been buried in the pressure and hectic schedule of revision and exams which have ruled my life for the past 2 years. I know many of you have felt or feel the same recently with A levels, AS levels and Gcse's going on. Also not forgetting the uni students doing their assessments, oh how easy life seemed to be in lower school.


So i have my last exam tomorrow, (cheers to that) and Ive decided to take a quick brake to post about it. Its Textiles A level and I'm terrified as this is the one subject i adore. hopefully the revision session i had with my Friend earlier today helped as i feel it did. I'm also sad that this is my last exam as i wont see one of my favourite teachers I've had since Mrs sainsbury in year 5. So i best get cracking with some last bits of revision so i do achieve that grade to enable me to get into kensenington and Chelsea college.


I'm back for good now and you'll be seeing some very interesting posts in the very near future (tomorrow).

Lady Gaga Born this fashionable way

Wow what can i say, shes done it again my inspiration for mostly everything i design and do (as well as Lauren Conrad) has given me my gaga fix. i was craving a little gaga and when i saw her arrival live on the red carpet at the Grammys i knew the video for Born This Way would be something special. come on she arrived in an EGG!!

Shes certainly broke the rules and rewritten many in the warcrobe department in this video. I love her simple bar and pant look and wouldnt mind owning a pair and her suit look which excentuates some broad shoulders as well as a masculine appeal really sets in the trends.

There is also a nude cat suit which is interesting and very Gaga-esc.

I cant wait for her Next release and hope her message in this song proves to all you fashionistas that your born the way you are and whether you posses the uniquness of bold style or you follow trends, or prefer to play it safe you should be Happy with the way you are.

Never Say Never Justin Bieber European Premier

The 16th of febuary was a very exciting wedensday indeed for me and my best friend Abby Balmer. Standing in a long Que for what seemed like forever, which infact was 7 hours then an extra 2 waiting indoors and all this to see the very handsome, Talented and just plain bieberlicous JUSTIN BIEBER.

So while we qued we got talking to some lovely fashionable young ladies ready to wave thier purple inspired items of clothing to grab the attention of the very fashion consious bieber.

Well the Premier kicked off and so did the red carpet, so bring on fashion misses and hits i said rather loudly (in my head).

I was very interested to see who would turn up and walk the Red carpet and i was very surprised and heres who turned up my photography is bad due to the manic screaming and crying. (not from me of course but from the many young girls around me)

Madeline Duggan although dressed rather Casual looked stunning a brown bear faux fur coat with harem pants and a rather lovely snow leapord cluth. HIT

I have no idea who this was but i loved his quirky sense of style and miss matching tartan print with the trend this season of baseball jackets. HIT

Mutton dresses as Lamb. Oh dear jillian and we thought you could redeem yourself never should a lady over 30 wear dresses with large 3D pieces such a bows itlooks tacky and can go horribly wrong in Photos. sorry Jillian but dont faint at the site that its a MISS

Well we come to the Star of the show Justin Bieber, well asmuch as i love this boy a combo of skinny jeans, a tux and converse just dosent seem right i mean he clearly was rushed for time when getting dressed that evening. And come on justin didnt your mum ever teach you to tuck your shirt in. Although its a bit of a disaster from the Waist up is Definantly HIT but youved MISSED on the bottom.

Sam and Harry from Only Way Is Essex, i have to say loved thier outfits and im Proud that these guys are taking us essex girls away from the stero typical rep, overall HIT.

But sam get the blonde hair dye back out that black hair dose nothing for you.

Jesse J certainly stole the show I loved her Henry Holland tights, and pink body con skirt matched with a very rocker chic leather Jacket. Future Fashion Icon to Watch HIT.

Craig David has returned and with some swagger too I loved the suit look with Sunglasses even if we were indoors. Glad to see the return of the guy and cant wait for a bieber david collaboration HIT.

Heres a video report of the Premier watch out for my face around 29 - 32 seconds in, I had a great time and have discovered myself along with Abby in many of the back shot photos by the press and also of the crowd I would definately go to another premeier but i know to be prepared this time and intend to get better pictures for you lovely readers.
